The occupational title such as established by law is "Rechtsanwalt". This occupational title has been obtained in the Federal Republic of Germany.
A German "Rechtsanwalt" is subject to the following professional rules:
•    the German Federal Code for the Legal Profession ("Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung" (BRAO))
•    the Rules of Professional Conduct for German Lawyers ("Berufsordnung für Rechtsanwälte "(BORA)) and the Rules for Specialistr Lawyers ("Fachanwaltsordnung" (FAO))

•    The German Federal Lawyers' Fee Act ("Gesetz über die Vergütung der Rechtsanwältinnen und Rechtsanwälte" (RVG))
•    the Rules of Professional Conduct for Lawyers of the European Union (CCBE) sowie dem
•    the Act on the Professional Activity of European Lawyers in Germany dated 9 March 2000 (EuRAG)
